No looking BACK! It's written in RED!

A few weeks ago a friend and I were texting! Fun I know :)
This friend and I were catching up a bit, when she asked about someone (you know how you do when your curious). Anyway, this person she asked about, wasn't just a good friend, or a close friend for that matter, my friend asked about someone from her past.

We've all done it, well a good majority..
We have that one relationship that God asks to give up due to it being a distraction, or just wrong timing.. and we do. We say "Lord I'll do it because I want YOUR best!" It's exciting at first! You think "Man God cares enough to have me end something He sees the "forcast" to." We go on with our life loving and seeking God! It's great, because we KNOW that God has our BEST interest in mind.

Then the day comes...

We're talking to someone we know...

Ok hold up! WOW... I know.. this is random for whoever is reading...but ... the previously written was a blog saved to my drafts on 7/25/09.. it is currently 11/17/09... and this was SO meant to be... anyway...I'm going to continue on... and pour even MORE out now than originally planned..because SO much more has happened!

What I was GOING to say was ... we talk to that person we know and it goes without saying that we're "curious" about how that person we "gave up" due to obeying God is doing... so we ask...
well God had spoken to me about that... and the scripture (though a bit harsh) came up that says:

Luke 9:62
Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God. (Amp)

God is merciful, but this scripture is obviously in the NEW TESTAMENT because He knew we'd be tempted. Truth is we should strive never to get to the point of wondering what "could've been." Yes i know this isn't the EASIEST thing to do. Even still we should look to Philippians 4:8 for direction and motivation not to look back ... it reads,

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. (Amp)

So yes.. let's not look back at the dead things (like Samson in the Bible) and think of how sweet it could be to "taste of it.." again..as our YFR guest speaker Chris Palmer put it for us! Let's keep our hearts and minds focused on the good of what's ahead! This requires FAITH.. let's focus on God's fulfilled promises YET to come! Obedience to God I believe is a seed, which reaps a UNIMAGINABLE harvest :) God rewards those who diligently seek Him.. let's be diligent on looking forward.. growing and seeking God's FACE :)
